Field Notes

Description:

I first thought this was a small seed stuck in web. At about 8mm long this pink-orange coloured insect resembles a hopper but with longer antennae and a couple of other different features.

Habitat:

Resting on a wall in a nature reserve adjoining a national park.

Beautifully colored one! They are usually bark colored!
This looks like a psyllid to me. The wings have less branching in my opinion. Either way you can still call them plant lice. http://museumvictoria.com.au/discoverycentre/infosheets/psyllids-on-wattle-plants/ http://australianmuseum.net.au/image/Psocid http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/38267236
