Field Notes

Description:

Spiky black and brown bugs with legs and pincer things (larvae and pupa).

Ladybugs vary in color from black to orange to red with black spots. However, they all usually have the same shape and size and are easy to identify.

Habitat:

These were found on my eggplant, but they can live in towns, forests, houses, and grasslands.

Notes:

More than 5,000 species of ladybugs! The first and second pictures are the pupa and the other pics are the larvae. The one being held is the adult ladybug.
