Description:
The Blackburnian Warbler is a small New World warbler. They breed in eastern North America, from southern Canada, westwards to the southern Canadian Prairies, the Great Lakes region and New England, to North Carolina.
Blackburnian Warblers are migratory, wintering in southern Central America and in South America, and are very rare vagrants to western Europe.
Notes:
This tiny little guy flew into one of our windows today. I picked him up off the deck & checked him over & other than being very shocked & having a slightly crooked tail, he seemed pretty much alright. He appeared quite relaxed in my open hand & even preened himself while I was holding him. Happily after staying exactly where I put him for about 10 minutes, he eventually flew up into one of our hackberry trees.
