Field Notes

Description:

A medium sized bird with a long tail. It is gray and brown in color with some black spots on the wings. Below the eye is a crescent shaped spot of dark feathers.

Habitat:

These birds are often found feeding off the ground. They were found in my back yard. They rarely eat from my tree feeders. They are often seen in pairs.

Notes:

These birds love to feed on the ground underneath my hanging bird feeders! They are beautiful birds. The fourth pictures shows what I believe is a white winged dove in the forefront, and a mourning dove in the back.
