Description:

Dear Santa, Please bring me a camera with a wicked macro lens ;)

Habitat:

found lots of these very small mushrooms growing on pine needles and on rotting logs. Some have caps only 2-3 mm accross.

thanks Alex, I did think they may be similar to the one you photographed next to the cigarette lighter?
hi julie, i had the same thoughts, my camera was also still to weak to get my spotting (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7376544) in good quality. Take a look , somewhat similair. Can not really help identify them. Can only give the direction : (fam: tricholomataceae) -- marasmius or marasmiellus , maybe mycena ( but i doubt, even if the mycenas have somewhat the shape of this one, but the mycenas are mostly little bigger/larger). good luck - compare it with my spotting, maybe it the same. i just wanted to push "send", when i found a picture , which let me do this suggestion.
You said it, a great camera would make life so much easier!
