Description:

Small, dumpy wader. Juvenile similar to adult but dark markings are less distinct and has dull legs and dark bill.

Habitat:

Associated with coastal sandy and shingle beaches, also on estuaries.

Notes:

The black bill identifies this as a juvenile.
