American crocodile (Crocodylus acutus) basking in a small pond behind our field station on Blackbird Caye, Turneffe Atoll, Belize

Habitat:

Small pond of brackish waters.

Notes:

Individual is missing its left eye and has been known by residents of the island for many years to bask in this pond.
