Field Notes

Description:

gray with reddish brown on the legs. It has coarse fur, long neck and slender body, with short tail and small ears. The winter coat is longer and softer, and paler in color. There is a white stripe along each side from the shoulder to the rump. The tail is held upright against the body - the underside of the tail is black and white. The eye is surrounded by a pale ring.

Habitat:

arid plains with sparse vegetation, rocky slopes, rocky ground.
