Hmmm... Alice I see this kind of Pose in most of Birds comes under Order Pelecaniformes. They must drying their wings after taking dives for catching food what is mostly Fishes.
Agree Sarah... My newly bought Field Guide of Indian sub continental Birds by Krys Kazmierczak says what you suggested...!! I bought this guide as my expert Biologist friend recommended it.
