Description:

Purple, three-leaved plant with yellow flowers. New leaves are red and folded.

Habitat:

Growing in strawberry patch and inside hollowed railroad tie.

While the leaves look clover-ish this is actually a wood-sorrel in the genus Oxalis. The flowers are distinctly non-clover. There are a lot of Oxalis species: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxalis.
