Thanks Dan for the information. In Brazil the Impatiens walleriana is very common in humid areas and have the same behavior.
Courtney, the yellow and the orange are actually different species and you could split them into 2 spottings. The yellow is Yellow Jewelweed - I. pallida http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impatiens_pallida and the orange is Orange Jewelweed or Spotted Touch-me-not -I. capensis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_Jewelweed @rubens, the plant has this name because when it's seepods are ripe they explode with just a light touch. Other types of Impatiens have similar exploding seedpods.
