Field Notes

Description:

Size:6mm. Long legged. Transparent yellow/light greenish yellow body. A distinctive white band beneath the anterior median eyes. Frequent change in eye color can be witnessed. According to the description in salticidae.org (J. Proszynski):
The carapace is oval with a slightly truncated posterior edge. The eyes are bunched together near the front of the carapace, in what is virtually a 2,4,2 pattern.

Habitat:

Tropical rain forest and gardens. Underneath big leaves.

Notes:

The most amazing vision system I've witnessed so far. In one of the photographs some particles of the retina can be observed.
