Description:

In the Indian subcontinent both roots and leaves are used as food or food ingredients.

Notes:

In Gujarat, India we use these leaves to cook famous gujarati dish caaled Patra.

there are lots of bunches (groups) of this kind over the road side at Goa, India

Ohh, that testes nice with rice, JadeDuallo We are having very test-full dish called "Patra" a Gujarati food.
locally called "GABI" here in the Philippines..... belongs to Araceae Family... edible varieties are used as substitute for rice.
In my country (Ecuador) is known as papa china, as they have some bulbs that are edible :)
