Field Notes

Description:

Colourful butterfly, especially the " border-like" pattern in red. But drab when the wings are open (last shot)

Habitat:

I was up on my terrace anxious to see what Cyclone Yaas would bring when this piece of the rainbow came to sip nectar from Catharanthus roseus flowers.

Notes:

It may not be exotic...Wikipedia says it is one of the most common of the approximately 225 described species in the genus Delias...but Common or not it cheered me up on a stormy day!
