Notes:

I spotted this on my window late this afternoon, not sure quite what it is. 2.5 cm long and .5 cm wide. Seems to be plant like and my be a leaf, alternatively they could be eggs. The cells/eggs are quite clearly visible and surrounded by a clear material.

I think these might be some kind of Chironomidae larvae.. a midge (dipteran) found Australia wide. http://www.mdfrc.org.au/bugguide/display.asp?type=5&class=17&subclass=&Order=7&family=252&couplet=0
Great series! I've moved this to arthropods for you. Signs of wildlife like this are categorized by the organism that created them.
I still can't figure out what they are, even now that they've hatched. Thanks for chronicling this! Will keep watching this post for possible ID and updates...
hatching day, today the eggs hatched, must have been a couple of hours ago, the hatchings are moving away from the egg sacks at quite a rate. Some hatchlings are not moving while others are moving at 3 body lengths every couple of seconds
new photographs added, which show activity inside the eggs
Wonderful that it is on the window, you can see what happens!
Is interesting! may be you can keep track of it to see if you can figure out what comes out from it. I would bet they are eggs rather than plant or fungus but I have no idea..
