Description:

Family Lasiocampidae consists of around 1,500 species distributed worldwide but are most diverse in the tropical regions of Asia and Africa. They prefer hilly forests and coastal habitats.
Length (head to tip of the forewing): 50mm.

Habitat:

Mountainous forests, consisting mainly of chestnut and oak trees. There are hamlets and farming activities too. Cold place. Altitude: about 2,300m.
