Field Notes

Notes:

Found it in my balcony this morning. It's about 7cm with it legs open. Couldn't get closer because it is fast and likes to jump. I have seen some similars in Project Noah, but I can't find them, I don't remember its ID.

Species ID Suggestions

Shu, thank you so much for the information! I'll take a look tomorrow morning :)
I'm 95% sure its a huntsman, Family: Sparassidae, small possibility it is "Olios helvus" (but i'm not sure enough to offer it as a suggestion). If the specimen was spotted in Africa i would suggest a "Palystes sp." (except that it does not have a white line above the chelicerae. I had a look through this page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sparassidae_species) for all the species found in Colombia, but unfortunately there is not enough information/pictures on the web to definitively identify this specimen. In my limited opinion, it does not fit the general description of Family: Dolomedes.
I really want to know what kind of spider this is. I have been surfing the web off and on all day trying to figure it out :) Dolomedes is a fishing spider which is why I asked about water. I came across a fishing spider in South America called Ancylometes but didn't see pictures of them. I hope you find out what it is.
Yes, but like a small river (we call it "quebrada", the word I found to translate is "ravine", but its not a canyon. Just a really small river)
The eyes are not those of a Huntsman. It still could be a Dolomedes. Any water near where you live?
I added a zoomed photo, let me know what you think!
Maybe one of the Fishing Spiders (Dolomedes) by the way it is holding its legs, but I can't see the eyes. Dolomedes have 2 rows of 4 eyes that look like smiles. The Huntsman has 2 rows of 4 that are straight lines. I could be wrong with both guesses though :)
Beautiful! I wonder if it is something in the Giant Crab spiders, such as a Huntsman?
Its body is actually small, but it got 8 pairs of long legs!
