thankyou Alex :) I agree it is a galerina and will look more for New Zealand references.
thats my best guess, even if i'm not sure if this species variation is found in new zeeland, but it is surely not a coprinus and definitly not the comatus. even if i'm not sure about my suggestion, but i suspect it is a GALERINA. try some new zeeland species from the fam: galerina. good luck
