Description:

approx. 3 1/2 inches tall. spongy appearance

Habitat:

spotted on the edge of pine woods in recently turned earth (trail in county park)

That's funny. I have a friend here in Florida that asked the same question. I was good with it 'visiting' as long as it didn't pull its feet out of the sand and chase me through the scrub.
What planet are they from?
