Field Notes

Description:

These beautiful little green snakes are harmless, gentle and inoffensive creatures which can be easily handled. Their parotid gland secretions are venomous only to their prey which includes small toads (Bufo melanostictus) and other small lizards. They are found normally among grasses and prefers high altitude regions (but my village is not a high altitude area). This is the first time I've seen this snake in real life. Was a nice experience.

Habitat:

Grass land. High altitude region.

Notes:

First I thought it is a viper but after referring to books I found it is a harmless green keelback.
