was being attacked by blue jays but did not respond for fear of death

A cool thing about red-tails is that the males are about 1/4 smaller than the females; this lets them both hunt in the same area but not compete as the male takes smaller prey and the female takes larger prey.
was resting on east side of building during the afternoon heat has a mate in the area
