Field Notes

Description:

Gray, black, white and vibrant orange jumping spider with some blue on its chelicerae.

Habitat:

Perez's Sea Lavender in the backyard... and my finger :)

Notes:

The vision method and the spiders ability to make a home nearly anywhere is why I'm submitting it to NWF for both Wildlife with Super Senses, Species that Survive in Unusual Habitats. "The genus Phidippus is noted for having colorful chelicerae (which are basically their ‘jaws’)" - G.B. Edwards
