Field Notes

Description:

bright orange fungus colonizing a Russula mushroom, making it far more substantial than the host. White spore print.

Habitat:

In deep needle duff under shore pine, spruce, hemlock, etc.

Notes:

Sauteed, it tasted pretty good. A number of them were smashed/splintered/gnawed. Maybe bear work.
