Haha... for that take care..!!
Absolutely ashish thats great info And juan I am gonna go back and try to spot the nest if possible must be around somewhere cause i see a lot of these in the vicinity.
Hope Atul you got good info here...like I get...!!
on it B is queen bee..?
Ashish, that´s a good page, but is a general color pattern on the species, unfortunately there are also exceptions and intermediated color patterns
not at all Juan ,you give me a good start to find out more and more about my spotting .i am learning a lot from you and project noah, i am a bird watcher but friends like you and others on project noah have motivated me a lot to look into other species other than birds ,thanks to you all.
This will help... http://www.encyclopedie-universelle.com/abeille1/abeille-apidae-apini-apis-florea-dorsata-andreniformis-cerana-dessins.jpg
Atul see Anatomy image of Honey bee and know Abdomen.. http://www.geochembio.com/biology/organisms/honeybee/
and yes, Apis species have different nest shapes and behavior, so is probably easier to identify the species by watching the nest
I know you feel frustrated because must of the time I don´t give you an species identification, but unfortunately insects are not like mammals. They are small and many times are very similar, so a true identification is only possible using an stereoscope and a taxonomical key
absolutely ???? nest ?? or what ashish said
I find that in Apis genus specie of andreniformis had shorter abdomen compared to specie of cerana.
the nest would be suggestive ,is it Juan????
yes, it could be A. andreniformis, but again, is hard to be sure only by a picture.
Moth is very cute...!!
This is also... Apis andreniformis
