Field Notes

Notes:

Was staying with a friend at Mar Y Selva in Ballena, Costa Rica an I had some cool Brazilian music playing on my computer while I cooked for us. I think this little Leaf Mantis enjoyed the music so much it wanted to get as close as he could. He is so cute!

Next time if I see it here on Samui island..I hope I have my camera with me..lol
That is so cool! Checking his facebook? ;)
It should be called "The Groovy Mantis"
Very cool indeed!!! I've been hoping that someone would upload a spotting of this mantis in full profile!! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing spotting!!!!
Pretty sure it's a Peruvian Shield Mantis, the Wikipedia picture is not entirely accurate however, as the spots on the "shield" vary. Anyhow, the two spots on the abdomen kind of point towards a Peruvian to me.
