Field Notes

Description:

One of the UK's most common birds, and probably one of the more colourful ones. Usually heard instead of seen, their song is loud and clear. The male is very distinctive with a red to pink breast, grey cap and nape of the neck, and black and white streaks on the wings. The female (4th picture) is much more drab with browns and greys.

Habitat:

Woodland, hedgerows, fields... they are pretty much everywhere in the UK

Notes:

Spotted this pair in a tree singing to each other at Woodhall Manor in Suffolk

Merci Luc! If you come to the UK, you will find lots of these birds! They are very common :)
Very nice photo. This little looks nice, with soft colors. If one day I travel a UK's I must find such :)
