Yellow leaves, about 3" wide. Growing in a deciduous forest.

Ah, very cool. I always considered them terrestrial species.
We have wild grapes here that I have had to cut out of the pines that were growing all the way to the top. roughly 35-40 feet. :-D They will grow toward the sun and if given long enough they can take over. Quite invasive actually. I leave them in the hedgerows but have to keep them out of the pines as they will eventually choke them out.
Could be, but these leaves were about 15' up.
