Ruellias are popular ornamental plants. Some are used as medicinal plants, but many are known or suspected to be poisonous. Their leaves are food for the caterpillars of several Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths), typically Nymphalinae and in particular members

Just remember,Alan, "a weed is just a plat whose positive attributes have yet to be appreciated". Looks like a flower that those big brown bumblebees might appreciate. Yes? I've seen them too, but I don't know what it is. Maybe my hubby would at least know the Bisaya term for it. I'll try to have him see it when I get home.
