Looks like a Cyathea frond judging by the girth and the scales. Cyathea cooperi is fast growing and very commonly used as a landscaping plant so it could be.... bit of a punt though.
Thanks, I want to ID the one with the curled growth. I think the fern in the second photo is part of it.
