Yes the flowers are very similar, but the leaves don't match. I've added the best shot I have of the leaves. They are pointed, about 2 inches long and alternate the length of the stem.
Good chance this is a Jerusalem Artichoke. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem_artichoke
