Description:
A big Longhorn Beetle (Cerambycidae). Unlike the previous Longhorn Beetle, this species have a large bulky body but a pair of thin antennas.
There side of it's thorax are armed with sharp spikes.
Too bad I didn't measured it so I guess it's body length (mandibles to tip of abdomen) is about 5cm / 50mm.
Habitat:
Not sure.
I found it on the floor of the open restaurant of Seri Kinabalu (Aristo at that time).
Notes:
During our dinner in the open restaurant of Aristo Resort Kinabalu Resort, we were greeted with thousands of nocturnal flying insects that are attracted to the lights. This Longhorn Beetle is one of the larger nocturnal insect.
