Fallow deer

Hi wish it was my job... all the time. Although the Tapada is great the whole year round, the best time for a visit is during Spring, between end of March and end of May. Then from the end of September until late November, with the Fall colors, it's fantastic. Check the images at the Tapada website frontpage. I've a workshop there this Saturday. We'll start it at 7am, while is still dark, so people can have the experience of seeing the first rays of light. And there's a country Guest House inside the area, so you actually can stay there for the night and wake with the animals. Hope this helps. JA

Hi as far as I know yes.Since 1750 that Kings used to hunt deer and wildboars and various bird species at the same place that now is a nature park. Check www.tapadademafra.pt, there's a page in English with info. I run phototours and workshops there.
