Description:

These are the most common insect in my desert garden, always burrowing under leaf debris or cushions, hiding during the day and I can hear them scratch about at night. But for some reason, I've never before bothered to try to get an ID so hopefully someone can help. A type of darkling beetle? About 3 cm in length, small raised bumps in lines on body.
