Field Notes

Description:

Adult male with rufous sides dark head upper body and tail. A white belly and red eyes. There are also white spots on the upper parts of the wings.

Habitat:

Spotted in my backyard. Their breeding habitat is chaparral, thickets or shrubby areas across western North America.
