Canada goose (or possibly cackling goose)

@ 1Sarah2: I can't decide if you're right or not. One of the key differences appears to be neck length, but I can't tell because it's got its neck all curled up. I wish I could see the tail markings, that would be another way. According to the range chart, cackling geese don't come to Alabama, but then again, those things are never 100% accurate. Cackling geese are a subspecies of canada anyway, so we're probably both at least half right. :)

Well, Canadas are known to be migratory, we see them all the time down here. Some of them have even made permanent homes. :)
