Description:

Purple bunches of flower on ends of branches

Habitat:

In groups on banks near wooded area

Notes:

Any tips on best features to catch in order to identify plants/flowers/trees are greatly appreciated.

Species ID Suggestions

Smartweed

Polygonum sp. (maybe pennsylvanicum or persicaria)

I need to take better notes hehe. From what you guys have suggested, I need a better picture of the area where the "branches" branch off from the main stem to distinguish the species better. Thanks :)

How tall? if it is short it may be what I have listed.... Water pepper or something else I have been seeing is Redshank (Persicaria maculosa) I think the Redshank is taller....... Not quite sure dad
