Field Notes

Description:

A beautifully coloured snake, long, with a thin whip-like tail. He didn't seem to scared of us, slithered slowly away, hid in some grass around a tree trunk for a while, poking it's head out to look at us once or twice, then continued slowly off across a path and into some bushes on the other side.

Habitat:

Seen on the ground beside a sandy walking track in Boondall Wetlands.

Notes:

Spotted on a wonderful day out with my fellow PN-ers Shanna Bignell and Neil Ross.

thanks Neil... Yes that's the nice thing about communal spottings, everyone sees something slightly different!
So beautiful, and all seen from a different angle. Each photo reveals its character, and it was relaxed and casual as it slipped away across the track and into the bushes. I didn't get photos of that. An excellent series and description, Pam. I can still hear the squeals of delight when we first saw him/her :-D
