Description:

Ranging in size from the relatively small pigeon-size jackdaws (Eurasian and Daurian) to the Common Raven of the Holarctic region and Thick-billed Raven of the highlands of Ethiopia

Crows make a wide variety of calls or vocalizations. Whether the crows' system of communication constitutes a language is a topic of debate and study. Crows have also been observed to respond to calls of other species; this behavior is, it is presumed, learned because it varies regionally. Crows' vocalizations are complex and poorly understood. Some of the many vocalizations that crows make are a "Koww

Sheep and crows are two of my favourite subject matter, so I figured that painting the two together would be double the fun. These two have a symbiotic relationship. The sheep provides the crow with a nice soft spot to land and some tasty tidbits buried in her wool. The crow scouts out the best grazing fields and leads the sheep in the right direction. Their symbiotic relationship is mutualism.

When courting, the adult crow fluffs his feathers, struts and fly in circle to attract a female crow. Once mated, the male and female crows stay together for life. Both take turns sitting on the 4-6 eggs in the nest. When building the nest, younger birds help build the nest and bring food and water to the mother to be. Building a nest usually take 1-2 weeks of gathering leaves, moss feathers, grass, twigs, and sticks. Baby crows stay in the nest up to 2 months before leaving. Adult crows can live up to ten years and are 21 inches from beak to tail when fully grown. There are using sexual reproduction

Habitat:

The main predators, or natural enemies, of crows and ravens are hawks and owls. Hawks attack, kill and eat them during the day, and owls come after them at night when they are on their roosts. Crows are very adaptable birds, and they eat almost anything, from seeds and fruits to carrion, which means dead animals.

Raven is one of the species that have the same environment than crow and they are also in the same family and Crows and ravens often score very highly on intelligence tests.

There are a variety of
problems associated with crow roosts, primarily when
they are in close proximity to people. Commonly, crow
roosts are found in stands of mature trees and can be
located near homes, buildings, walkways and parking lots.
Fecal droppings can accumulate under a crow roost,
presenting a health hazard and nuisance by covering
cars, walkways and other objects.
