Habitat:

Shrub layer, tropical rainforests.

I found a book about Mount Kinabalu plants at the university library today. It happened to have a picture of M. frondosa =) Yeah. M. phillipica looks similar, too. Hmmm... How do we decide?
Well done! How did you dig that one out? Might be M. phillipica too. Yours seems to have shiny more leathery leaves than frondosa.
Could they be Mussaenda frondosa? Seems quite similar.
Another curiosity! I found another photo of this online but it was also without ID......hope someone can help.
Next we need to lay a Star fish next to them. Fascinating!
