Description:

The eastern bearded dragon (Pogona barbata) is an agamid lizard found in wooded parts of Australia.

This one was extremely well camouflaged against the trunk of a tree. If it wasn't for the sharp eyes of Neil Ross, we wouldn't have seen it! As it was, I had to look twice!

Habitat:

Seen at Boondall Wetlands north of Brisbane, NE Australia

Brilliant. I think we were lucky to see it at all, Pam. It was so well camouflaged against tree, and had we approached from the opposite direction, we could have missed it. It's profile against the grass was the only thing that made me look twice. He's a handsome guy.
