A tall, pinkish-purple orchid growing from the ground.

Habitat:

Shrub layer, tropical rainforests.

Notes:

Photographed in the jungles of Gua Musang, Kelantan, Malaysia.

Yeah, I actually just uploaded it after you ID'd the thing =] It's from a separate hiking trip than the first, and I just noticed that they were actually from the same species.

You're absolutely right with the link. This species is rather weedy & very quick to colonise disturbed soils and a form that is self pollinating is also very common. Your shot here may well be this form as it looks like every flower is developing a seed pod and none are quite open.
