Thank you Sckel, ForestDragon and Jacob Gorneau!
Thank you ForestDragon!
It was not very big, but it was not too small, Jacob Gorneau. She was an azalea leaf, which are small leaves.
Amazing find! Most definitely Sphingidae, Macroglossinae, Dilophonotini, Nyceryx sp. This is either N. riscus or N. stuarti. I think this may be N. riscus due to the paler color, as seen in the following link: http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/nriscus.htm http://boldsystems.org/index.php/Taxbrowser_Taxonpage?taxon=nyceryx+riscus&searchMenu=taxonomy&query=nyceryx+riscus http://www.brazilhawkmoths.com/page35.html However, some arguments could be made in favor of N. stuarti: http://boldsystems.org/index.php/Taxbrowser_Taxonpage?taxon=nyceryx+stuarti&searchMenu=taxonomy&query=nyceryx+stuarti http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/nstuarti.htm Considering that N. stuarti not listed on the comprehensive brazil hawkmoths website, I am more inclined to call this N. riscus. What size was this? Some sources seem to indicate that size is the best way to identify these species. I would be interested in hearing the opinions of others.
Essa é uma mariposa Macroglossinae. Eu não seu a especie. Aqui tem um link com uma bastante semelhante, mas de cor diferente: http://www.insetologia.com.br/2014/08/mariposa-lugubre-em-sao-paulo.html
