Description:

A pair of common water striders copulating.
One of the biggest members of the Gerridae family, with more than 15 mm long. It has a yellow band on both sides of pronotum and wide lateral projections of the abdomen.

They have two annual generations, both winged.

Habitat:

Common in tranquil waters. Spotted in a pond of a mountain river. Parque Natural de Sierra de Gredos.
