Description:
It measures 37 cm, weight 277 g. It has a sharp spur, bone, 1 cm in length at the meeting of the wings, a black belt from the neck to the chest and even a few sentences long (plume) in the back of the head, has a striking design in black, white and gray in plumage. The iris and legs are reddish. The spur is displayed to rivals or enemies with a lift or wing during flight. Male and female are similar.
Habitat:
Usually live in marshes and pastures, is seen on roads, football fields and near farms, often far from water. The want you want is always the first to give the alarm when an intruder invades their domains. It is a shrew who leads bird feud with any other species resident in the same meadow. Capybaras take good advantage of living with the I-want, for as the intonation, the cry of the bird can mean danger. Then the large rodents seek shelter in the water.
This feature makes the I-want an excellent guard dog, being used by some companies that have their industrial park populated by these birds.
Notes:
The want you want is a typical bird of South America, being found from Argentina and eastern Bolivia to the right edge of the lower Amazon and especially in Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. Inhabits large wet meadows and sprawling rivers and lakes.
