Monk Orchid

I understand they reproduce easily (seeds) so I hope to get a baby. My sweet orchid is now over two years old and has bloomed. If we face another hurricane I will dig it up and pot it to keep it safe.

Found one of these terrestrial small orchids growing in my garden behind some hedges in light shade about two years ago. It can be found in Florida from mid state and further south. It seems its origins are in Africa and it is believed maybe it was first carried west by birds (its seeds), wind or water.

Your property seems like a great place to be :) Love these - have you ever noticed what pollinates them?

Oh right, I remember. Sorry, sometimes it's hard to keep track of all my comments and interactions but I remember that for sure. Maybe you could put that in your notes so we know exactly where the spottings are from. This is a tiny beauty too!
