Description:

Some sort of large (long), black beetle. Distinct segmentation on antennae. Anyone know what kind of beetle this is?

Habitat:

Front yard of suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA home.

Thanks for the info Latimeria! I'm glad I didn't get any closer or decide to pick this one up!
That's a blister beetle, so called because it can exude liquid from its joints that will cause blisters if it comes into contact with your skin. Certainly a beautiful beetle, but not one you would want to aggravate.
