Sulfur Tuft
Hypholoma fasciculare
47.57, -122.652
Field Notes
Description:
When these pictures were taken it was a little after 8 in the morning in a very dense part of the preserve. It was very foggy so for the final shot I had to use the flash in order to actually get the shot. There are some color variations, but I guarantee these are all part of the same bloom colony.
Habitat:
grows in tidy clusters on conifer wood and occasionally hardwood. When found on the ground it can be harder to recognize
Notes:
This bloom was photographed at Illahee Preserve, Kitsap County, Washington; A 308 acre wildlife preserve bordering on the western shore of Puget Sound.
