Description:

I found it unbelieveable that there are monarch butterflies on Madeira - but the german wiki says that there are. In the morning and evening you can see them flying around the big flowers. luckily one day this fella posed for me - never imagined them so big though - wingspan about 10-12 cm, orange black and white patterned butterfly, body entirely black

Habitat:

Madeira
