Field Notes

Description:

This spotting includes three separate, very similar beetles found very close together. There are some slight variations between them - one is missing a leg, one has a more pronounced ridge around the upper part of its thorax - but I believe they are all members of the genus Eleodes. They're slow and very easy to catch.

Habitat:

High desert scrub.
