Description:

This beautiful male Common Copper Butterfly, also known as NZ Coastal Copper Butterfly (https://www.juliesbutterflies.com/coastal-copper.html ) is bright orange with bold black markings on the wings.

Habitat:

On the flower amongst native plants and grasses, in the middle of the track in Okia Reserve (https://www.yellow-eyedpenguin.org.nz/our-work/yept-reserves/okia/ ).
